Ideal for those seeking a profession in creature proper care, or those seeking access to college. This realistic coaching program gives you useful hands-on encounter dealing with crazy creatures, along with a City & Guilds nationally recognised certification.

Students gain information about life in a busy crazy creatures Medical center and they get to really influence the proper proper thousands of sick, injured and orphaned crazy creatures whilst coaching towards their certification.

This stage is perfect for those with a little information or primary abilities in creature proper care, to build on your encounter and abilities, plus give you useful hands-on encounter dealing with a wide variety of English crazy varieties.

We run a realistic program, where learners spend most of their rota in different places of the Medical center operating ‘hands on’ with our patients, cleaning & providing. The theory of Animal Care is covered by a mixture of realistic encounter and written projects. Students will finish projects at home to improve their overall background information.

This course will increase knowing of creature proper care, protecting places such as providing, enclosure servicing, health & well being, managing, exercise and physiotherapy.

The course is 90% hands-on and the whole program is carried out on site, with experienced mentors, trainers and assessors to assist you every step of the way.

This comprehensive program is made up of compulsory and optionally available models, protecting a variety of important creature proper care information and realistic skills:

Mandatory Units

Students must finish all compulsory units:

  • Unit 201 Sustain Animal Health and Welfare
  • Unit 202 Perform Practical Animal Feeding
  • Unit 203 Sustain Animal Accommodation
  • Unit 204 Perform Perform Relevant Expertise in the Land-based Industries

Optional Units

Plus three models from the following list:

  • Unit 205 Comprehend the Basic Concepts of Animal Biology
  • Unit 206 Introduction to the Concepts & Methods of Animal Behaviour & Handling
  • Unit 207 Contribute to the Nursing of Animals
  • Unit 208 Comprehend the Concepts and Methods of Animal Establishments
  • Unit 215 Environmental and Land-based Business
  • Unit 216 Comprehend English Wildlife Species, Habitats and Rehabilitation
  • Unit 219 Participate in Providing Estate Maintenance

Requirements

All learners must be at least 16 years old.

Enthusiasm is essential!

Students will also need:

3 GCSEs at grade D or above, including English. Plus Students should have at the least Access 3 Mathematics abilities.
OR

A full Level 1 certification in an animal-related subject. Plus be operating at Level 1 in English Efficient Skills and at the least Access 3 Mathematics abilities.
OR

At least two weeks encounter in a dog centre. Plus be operating at Level 1 in English Efficient Skills and at the least Access 3 Mathematics abilities.
Career path

Achieving this certification can help you’re working in roles such as kennels, catteries, pet shops, zoo keeping, creature well being, trainee vet nurse, vet assistant, college (e.g. degree in creature management), creature conservation, etc.
